1. General information
The following objectives are intended to be achieved with the completion of the Degree Final Project:
-
To teach the student to search for and manage relevant data on a subject under study by locating the most significant documentary sources.
-
To develop in the student the ability to: interpret the selected information and generate critical judgments, favouring the values of innovation and creativity; undertake a research project developing methodological skills to write and present a report in a correct and structured way and defend it with solvency in front of an expert audience.
These goals are aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 of the 2030 Agenda, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing.
To take the subject it is a prerequisite to have passed ≥180 ECTS. The defence of the thesis may be carried out when the student has a maximum of 12 ECTS of the degree pending to be passed.
2. Learning results
The student must be able to carry out a Degree Fina Project with integration of the formative contents received and the competences acquired, under their responsibility and under the direction of one or more teachers.
3. Syllabus
- Transversal subject that does not have its own contents.
- It is important to note that the documentation to be completed for the evaluation and approval, if applicable, of the Degree Final Project, its deposit and defence, as well as other issues related to procedures and deadlines, will be communicated to the students enrolled in the subject through Moodle/ADD. These procedures will be carried out in accordance with the regulations for the elaboration of Degree Final Projects of the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences.
4. Academic activities
The development of the Final Degree Project is based on two types of learning activities:
-
Autonomous work of the student under the direction of the corresponding teacher(s).
-
Tutoring. In which the director will guide the student and resolve any doubts that may arise during the elaboration of the work.
The schedule and planning of the Final Project will be agreed between the student and the director. It should be noted that the Degree Final Project involves a total load of 150 hours.
5. Assessment system
The student will develop a report on the work done and must proceed to its oral defence before the board of examiners. The evaluation criteria are the following:
1. Director's evaluation (60% of the final grade): Including evaluation of the follow-up of the work performed (Document D.1) and the report written by the student (Document D.2). The assessment of both parts will be made with a numerical grade between 0 and 10, being the minimum average grade a 5 to be eligible for the defence.
2. Evaluation of the oral presentation and defence (40% of the final grade): The student must present their work before the board of examiners, which will evaluate the oral presentation and the defence of the report and will issue a numerical grade between 0 and 10 (Document D.3). If this grade is < 5, the board will issue a justification report, and a new defence will be required.
The final grade of the Final Project will be recorded in Document D.4, filled out by the board of examiners at the end of the defence. If the Final Project is graded as failed or the student decides not to attend the defence, they may withdraw their work in order to modify it.
